My Blessings

My Blessings

👑Queen,
you have come a long way
There have been pains and joys
You’ve been stretched till your back is straight
Now you stand tall and look life face-on
You have come to love you for your flaws
And spread out the veil of your strengths
So it reaches far more than your eyes can see
You were born with a slanted grin and just a dimple
With which you’ve charmed fears
With eyes as round as glowing orbs,
You’ll tame wildness
Intuitive wisdom shall grace your brow
A treasure that Royalty covets
Kindness of heart, Stubborn undying strength
Knowledge of Gods ancient Word &
Understanding of its hidden truths
Grace and Favor shall be your servant-girls
Ferocious fearlessness will always guard your beautiful feet
Every night of rest shall be a beauty session
for angels will massage your body with Heavens fluids
Youth and Beauty shall your attendant chauffeurs be
And garments of wealth and goodwill shall always be yours
At the drop of your words, angels will scamper to make it done
And the spirit of the Almighty GOD will guide & mentor you
Kings and Queens shall your nurses be
And your dwelling place will be unfathomable –
a playground for your eminent domestic prowess &
gifts to direct, manage, edify, beautify, negotiate, create & strategize
Realms and principalities shall surrender and give up the best spoil for you
When your arrive, indigent forces must give up their thrones
God’s power shall be your wand
And in war you shall always conquer
Your territory is henceforth enlarged to the expanse covered by sky,
And spiritual realms shall do your bidding
Even before you pray, your desires and thoughts will become answers
Those around you will live in indescribable peace & joy
Your life will be a tale and sought after wish eons after you’ve gone
Few shall meet your excellent standard!
You shall love like fire melting gold,
You shall betroth a King as worthy and valuable
Your children shall please the eyes and heart
Your light will blaze like a roaring fire and will never be dimmed
You will hear a voice telling you what to do always
your soul shall meet the Maker at last,
May The Almighty GOD bless you now and evermore,
It’s been written and So shall it Be!

Lagos and Life

Lagos and Life

A Day of my Life in the City
A spot I have sworn to get
A distance I must cover
A span, and then yards of growth
A period and a lesson
Amendments and Amens
All in time, in many days of my Life.

ATTRACTION

ATTRACTION

Fully clothed she stood,
Alert full-mooned eyes regarding Him,
full lips twitching momentarily
Her head crowned in a luscious black mane
Tilted towards his direction
He knew he had her attention
Oh yes he did!
He couldn’t blink, for fear she’d vanish

~
… This moment was rare… And so he poured out his heart,
with thick undiluted unending portions
Passionately attempting to woo her
To caress her fenced-in mind,
To lure a smile from her
And perhaps her laughter too
The coy giggles and priceless nod
He hoped nakedly

And probed desperately …

Nappiness

Nappiness

Pitch black, please!
Lengths, unleash!
Vibes on pitch
Speed at a screech
Beauty is a beast
Birthmarks and the list
Spikes on the lease
Strangers eyes pleased
Sun on the peaks
Smile on the least
Live on Queens!

Path of the Wise

Path of the Wise

She held his hand, and steered right
He spoke in words, and her heart ignited

~
Many wise men, one narrow path
letters for the mind, the Word for the Soul
I had two ears, now I’ve grown four

DARK LANE 20/10/20

DARK LANE 20/10/20

Lonely Lane, draped in idealistic anthems
And values unused in decades
Fearless few have trudged bravely on your darkened path
All detouring- virile younglings and graying hopefuls

Cold and flanked by truth blades
Wisely sharpened and double-edged
Ageless virtues pave the way for the chosen
Pitch black, but ignited by traveller’s third sight

Only the lone wolf who dares a nay to decay
The knighted orator speaking for the weak
Those who taste freedom’s D-Day, from captors’ dens
Frail men, un-cowering and whom injustice won’t tweak

In peaceful protests young voices are heard
Shrill and piercing, running peace gauntlets
Bold hues of melanin, green and bloody red
Running in streams as bullets reply peace chants

The elders: timid, wizened and crooked ones
Watch in suspenseful horror, as a green army throngs the less travelled Lane
They sit across from each other, and gnaw at unspoken fears
Crooked ones cackling at bullet sounds, while the rest wish they have died.

The Lanes’ once grey walkway is now bloodied
Pandemonium, shock and tragedy rise as reddened dust.
The footfalls now die off and the souls of heroes now march heavily onward in blinding light,
While ninjas of corrupt elders whisk corpses off for a feast.

I am but a weeping scribe on Truths’ path.
And have taken The Lanes’ passage vows,
To see from an incorrupt mind and my one-eyed pen hereby
And tell tales of unsung heroes who tasted utopian freedom and rusty death.

04:35pm Saturday, October 31 2020

In the memory of my unarmed compatriots who were massacred by the military during a peaceful protest, while singing the national anthem and holding the Nigerian flag on the 20th night of October, 2020.

WISDOM

WISDOM

Rough yesterdays
Tired bones denied rest
Endless torment of question marks
Relentless Rigidity

~
Look now… There’s a light!
You were never alone
Dim now in the minds tunnels
Drop all the weight and run!
For right at the door of this self-made cave
is Wisdom’s tentative rapping:
‘ I waited for so long, Will You let me in? ‘
She asks.

Determination

Determination

Thirst scraping the throat’s corridors
Heartbeats tripled by 1 million tapping sounds
The naysayers gnawing at His Sanity’s remains
Doubting shrouded thoughts …

But like a blind-bull he plods on,
Threadbare coat moaning weakly in protest against screeching whip of the cold,
His soles raped by life’s jagged teeth – bleeding and kissing earth unashamedly

… He still keeps walking
Fighting demons and croaking laughter
Shouting weakly against the choking fear-tides
Forseen images that the world is yet to know,
Rivers of blood trickling from his nose
A rich-rusty taste like the success that torments his dreams
He licks it hungrily and gulps down the lunch of scarlet saliva
…. He marches on
– in unfathomable stubbornness!

REACTIONS

REACTIONS

Pregnant Stares
Overladen Chests
Screaming Silence
Dumb Wisdom
Inflamed Nerves
Swelling Arteries
Rigid Vibrations
Pulsating Balled Fists
Siren Thoughts,

… Just Breathe
Slower than you can
Let your Heaving Chest and Pounding Fists tell the TALE to All!

Watchful

Watchful

I’m closely monitoring my evolution
To all you say, my eyes respond
Lips sealed as my windows spill mysteries
My mind is in sync with our verbal intercourse
Unspoken sentences
God that sees the heart, sees all
And I’ve held His hand long ago
When He spills all the liquid knowledge
And it’s congealed in my heart’s treasure box
Still watching me?
The Eyes look on.
